RE: Rrecommended Soldering Iron - Strelok - 10-21-2022 Hi all, Do those air filters for the fumes really work? Seem to good to be true. Strelok RE: Rrecommended Soldering Iron - K O'Connor - 10-24-2022 Hi Guys To paraphrase Clinton: "Yes, I did smoke solder in college... but I didn't inhale". Gently exhale while soldering if it is not possible to have your face be well away from the plume. Otherwise, have good ventilation or employ a low-speed fan to bias the airflow away from yourself. A 12V muffin fan operating at 8V just as we make for cooling for a tube amp works well here. If the filter you have in mind is not inexpensive and/or is not washable then other methods might be better. Have fun RE: Rrecommended Soldering Iron - Strelok - 11-05-2022 Hey all, Haha, nice paraphrasiolation! The Quiet Art of Non Inhaling. Thanks for your advice Kevin! I don't mind spening money on a defumigator, but do they work? Anyone have experience with this? Strelok |
