Edit Reason: Found some shim tape.
)
I think I may actually have found a part that's as close to perfect as possible for this job: https://www.mcmaster.com/6420K12/

The diameters match, it's already got a set-screw hole, it's made of steel instead of nylon, and it runs almost the full length of the bore in my press' ram. I checked the bore tolerance with a 1/2" drill bit, and it seems like it is fairly close though still with a little wiggle room (the bore looks like a mod, not factory stock), so I think this bushing plus maybe a thin shim or two should do the job.
Edit: Looks like McMaster has shim tape (https://www.mcmaster.com/1143N22/) to the tune of 4 mil (2 mil stainless steel, 2 mil adhesive), so that should work to shim up the bushing. If my calipers are anything to go off of, the bore is only about 4 mil off a 1/2".
