Read this all.
[font=Artifakt, Tahoma, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Altium does have the capability of exporting their design files in file form called ACCEL ASCII format.  This is a data structure EAGLE is able to import.  If you wish to import a schematic, click on File/Import/Pcad, Altium, protel option.  Then follow the prompts on the dialog box.  Follow the same steps for a board. The symbols are in a .sch extension and the footprints are in a .pcb extension.

As I have mentioned, there is also a site called SNAPEDA that really has a large data base of symbols and footprints free.  When you download one it gives the option of what ECAD you want the files to be in.  Altium's wizards make it really easy for me to make parts so like I said, I can do the heavy lifting so to speak and share with who ever needs them.  i am a strange case, I love using ECAD, no matter what it is, so helping out is a labor of love.  Let me know what you need.  Just trying to help.

Hello All,
I have tons of symbols and footprints that I would be happy to share.  They are in Altium format but I think I can save export them as eagle files.  I will try and let everyone know.  Especially caps.  I just make resistors on the fly.

Library parts: Devices (part-5)

When we are finished making the device, we save it. If we would like to add a description of the device, we can go to EDIT in the top toolbar of the Library window, then select "Description" from the drop-down menu. A window pens that we can enter text into, just a brief description of the part, the actual manufacturer's part number, or whatever reminds us of what the device is. This description will appear beside the device name when we look at the expanded library listing in the directory for Eagle.

We can use the same Edit description path to provide descriptions for libraries, projects, devices, packages, and symbols.
