Thanks Kevin;
Appreciate the response. Tried checking the bias but meter is not functioning correctly. Will have a new meter in a day or two to set bias correctly.
Was revisiting channel switching and perhaps I have made this a lot more complicated than necessary. If I remove the RLY from the input and output of the preamps and use a grounded grid as in Fig 5-41 of TUT , First-principle Fender channel switching, will this provide a good working solution to two channel switching? I am wondering if switching this with a RLY rather than just a panel switch will make it easier to incorporate the switching via foot switch once I get these problems fixed?? Small cap across the contacts to prevent popping??
So, my plan is to connect the input jack to both preamp inputs, tie output of both preamps together into next stage, PI currently, effects loop eventually, and tie the grids of the second stage of amplification, labelled V1A in both schematics, to the RLY with the relay switching the deselected grid to ground. Does that sound like a plan???
Thanks, it's pretty cool to have the amp finally coming together
