If the amp itself is running quietly and proper grounded and has shielded wire on sensitive leads, good lead dress, and proper grid stops than you instead need to address the guitars faults. What is happening is that amp simply amplifying noise in the guitar. Basically the amp is doing it's job: making what goes into it louder.
You need to make certain the guitar is properly shielded and grounded.
That's what I figured, but I want to be sure I'm not overlooking something simple.
